1975 - 1980 joined Harvey Bootmakers from school. Trained as pattern cutter and designer. Passed CFI footwear technicians papers 1-4 with distinction at Southfields College, Leicester.
1980 - 1990 started design consultancy and serviced over one hundred company's in the U.K. and Europe including Clarks, K's, Barkers, Trickers, Winstanley, Airwair, Edward Green, Barracuda of Italy, Dunlop, Lotus, and many other unbranded company's including numerous womens and children's manufacturers. Many projects undertaken on behalf of the DTI funded consultancy scheme through the design council.
1990 - 1993 started developing and sourcing footwear for niche retailers including Red or Dead, Duffer of St George and Lawler Duffy.
1993 - 1999 started brand X England, exporting to Japan, Europe, USA and the UK to mail order catalogues, Gus, Littlewoods, Grattan, empire stores, Freeman's ( both mens and womens, a total of over 40 lines seasonally. ) retailers including Sacha, Dune, Jade, Raw, River Island and many independents. Also started Daniel Pallett label selling to Kurt Geiger for Harrods, Dickens and Jones, Rackams and many other outlets. Spent five years associated with J.R.Gammidge group as a group company. In 1999 opened own retail shop.
Strengths: creative directional footwear design including uppers, components, lasts, soles, and heels combined with technical knowledge of shoe making, shoe making problems and quality issues. Experienced with most constructions. Experienced in production control, importing and distribution.
